Can I move all my pictures in the iPhoto version 6.0.6 to my Pictures folder (home drive) with 10.6.8 OSX?

Hi. I'm planning on upgrading to Mavericks, but have read that iPhoto is not accessible with 10.9. Is there a way to move all my pictures from that application to just my Pictures folder? I am using iPhoto 6.0.6

I see an option for "Export" but not sure how to use it, so I'm afraid of making a mistake and end up losing my photos.

Also, I would like to move all the pictures from Photo Booth (version 3.0.3) as well...

I'm using older iMac 7,1 with 10.6.8.

Thank you

That's a very old (like 10 years old) version of iPhoto, and no, it will not run on 10.9. You will have a problem as iPhoto is no longer developed or sold, and so you won't be able to get an version of iPhoto that does.

There's no way that exporting can lose your files, but make a back up to be sure.

has details of the options in the Export dialogue.

What version of OS X 10.9.x do you plan to install? For 10.9.4 and earlier I believe you can use iPhoto '11 from an iLife '11 DVD which can be purchased - eBay and Amazon are potential source - you would also need to install and run the iPhoto upgrader Using the iPhoto Library Upgrader tool - Apple Support

Exporting will let you move the original photos losing all editing and metadata changes you have made

I have no idea ho you handle PhotoBooth
